Lazy? Yes. Tired? Absolutely. But I'll get back on here and remember some stuff for the sake of reading this a year or two from now. Does anyone else read these?? Anywho... 1. Major lifestyle changes... I've been working, trying to make progress on my degree while pushing out this music. I feel a strong sense of guilt towards my younger self for not recording as much as what I'd like to do... Daniel Larson Voice: This is a message for Trevor. Pearston. Please play drums on my recordings. Thank you all for the support. After this summer I'll have my Associate's, and I'll be working towards the Bachelor's in the Fall! Not gonna Dox myself, but I work at a place where there's lots of baseball. I also got a stupid haircut. :/ Styling myself with bandannas and sleeveless tees has been the move since the early summer... It went from 45 degrees to almost 90 within a week. I've burnt to a crisp twice. Got to watch a Staind Concert, and see the Aquabats too! Very good stuff, as far as inspiration goes. I learned a lot about how to handle crowds of different sizes, and found my preference of smaller shows to bigger ones. This year has been a game of finding what works for me, trying some new stuff, and embracing LOTS of crazy changes. Part B: the Music We had a house show that was really fun, played a new song or two... WE WON the battle at the Cat in the Cream, and played one of the fastest sets we had ever done. That recording is available on a Disc, with the files to soon be uploaded elsewhere. Played with some new cool bands, and some of our old favs. Yellow Fever and Ill Anatomy have been on a few bills of ours now, and they deliver a killer show each time we see them. Had a great time playing some events sponsored by the Greater Partnership of Sandusky... awesome sets from the Huron Market and Sunset Celebration! And FINALLY... Breakdown was mixed and released! Went up on spotify and has performed pretty decent since it's drop. I'm not entirely thrilled with how it sounds on every system I've heard it on, but I think that's a mastering problem... ?? If anyone sees this and has happened to mix/master a whole bunch of records, hit me up. Butch Vig, I'm looking at you. Other than that, I'm excited still for what's to come. Akron this week, Wooster the next, Cleveland to round out the summer before Marching Band steals my brother for 3 months. Hopefully I'll write more before then. <3 Like 1 1 Evan Pearston Aug 15 St. Patrick's Day Check in General Discussion Top O' the mornin' to ya! Happy St. Patrick's day from my crazy family to yours. I'm of Scottish decent on both my parent's sides... who would have guessed? I think it's mostly Welch, though. Hence the forehead. Anyways, It's been awhile, Hasn't it? Spring is coming in, we're all less depressed... for the most part. HA! Lizzy says hi... she's sitting next to me as I write this. We've both been very surprised about how many fans and follows we've received in such a short time! 500 followers on Facebook, and close to 450 on Instagram is CRAZY! Now I just need to start uploading to TikTok again. And don't even ask me about our X page with like 12 people following. XD My goal for the summer is to try and get these numbers up drastically... but we'll see how this plays out. I'm excited to get back up on stage and try some new songs out... For those who've read this far, here are the new ones in their working state: Waiting (played last year around halloween) Misanthropic (halloween as well) Crack (halloween too) Tear Dirt (7/8) Got Mine (aka Here We Go Again) Ugly Boy (almost adopted into the set) These sound completely different to our usual material, so I'm excited to see how you all will react. Other than that... Thanks again for all the continued support of my silly little music thing. Like 4 Evan Pearston Sep 12 Singles and Spring 2025 General Discussion Our first single is up, and it's doing great! 128 streams over 37 days. To those who have, thank you so much for listening! I'm beyond thrilled, it means the world to me. I've always said that the whole purpose of this project was to create a space to express feelings I felt as though I was unable/unwilling to express before. The journey so far has been incredible. For the rest of the year, I have plans to mix and produce the rest of the songs here at home by myself. They should come out fairly soon! After that, I'd like to start playing some newer music I've been writing. We played some new songs at the end of last year that went over really well, so we might bring those back very soon! As always, keep your eyes and ears open for updates, and I'll see you around! Like 5 Forum - Frameless

  • Bio | Mentally Distrakted

The Biography for Alternative Rock band Mentally Distrakted. Biography Mentally Distrakted is the result of a lifelong bond between two brothers from Sandusky, Ohio. Evan and Trevor Pearston have been writing music together since 2019, and formed Mentally Distrakted as their first musical project. Mentally Distrakted has been carving out their name in the music scene with this lineup for years. With Evan Pearston as the singer/guitarist, Trevor Pearston as the drummer, Jenna Clark as the bass guitarist and Daniel Likes as the lead guitarist, Mentally Distrakted brings a rounded, heavy sound to the new age of music. Their style leaves one foot firmly planted in the grunge aesthetic of the 90's, while the other loosely flows between sub-genres of punk, metal, and other unique styles. From a very young age, these kids have been expressing a level of musicianship that excels far beyond that of their peers, and they continue to bloom and express themselves through their innovative style of music. Timeline 2019 Evan Pearston (age 14) starts to write songs, occasionally inviting Trevor, his younger brother (age 10) to play drums with him. A special musical bond forms between them. 2020-2021 Evan and Trevor start to frequent the local record store where jam nights foster inspiration to continue writing for both of the boys. At this time, Evan fosters relationships between musicians in the community, and tries to form multiple bands with friends. These projects, while short lasted, helped solidify Evan's unique writing style. One particular musical project encouraged a young Jenna Clark to pick up a bass guitar. Evan and Jenna began learning and growing with one another, challenging each other to get better as the months progressed. April 2022 Evan and Trevor play together alongside a few other friends as a part of the house band for the record store. By this time, the boys had frequented the record store and made it the unofficial headquarters until it was shut down. They earn their first spot on a local show when the owner asked the boys to perform as part of a "Metal Monday" showcase. June 2022 The band, now known as "The Boys","The Metal Monday Band", or just Evan and Trevor, play a show together for the 2nd time. They quickly realize there is some sort of magic happening... and the adults around them agree. The manager at the record store venue book the boys for a show in July under the name "Mentally Distrakted". The band is born. Trevor suggests that his new band plays at the annual talent show. Trevor, along with Evan and stand-in bassist Jenna Clark play a packed gym as "The Band!" Friends and Family encourage these three to play as a band together, and rumors of Jenna becoming the 3rd member of Mentally Distrakted start to fly around. July 2022 The boys play their first show under the new name, opening for a band on tour. Evan and Trevor play with a minimal setup, and tear the house down for the first time as Mentally Distrakted. August 2022 The band solidifies its lineup by adding Jenna Clark on bass. They continue to play shows at the record store, building a following from the ground up. The band meets Jason Voorhees. (long story) John E.L. Tenney gets Mentally Distrakted. (another long story) October 2022 Band is interviewed on local radio 95.3 WLKR for the first time. November 2024 Mentally Distrakted plays the Grog Shop for the first time! The second Norwalk Public Library show also took place, being the first time Trevor (Co-founder) was absent from a show.
